    Yoga Retreat- Our Special Day

    Our fabulous Day Yoga Retreat last month was such a beautiful day.

    A weekend retreat or a day immersion is the best way to connect with our yoga students and facilitate the opportunity for people who usually pass each other in and out of a weekly class, to share the yoga focus.

    A day immersion is an opportunity to step away from the regular day to day and  give yourself precious time, just for you!  An absolute must for your health and sanity.

     

    I was so fortunate to have been able to transport all our blankets and props to the Checkers Resort the day before so when we all arrived at around 8:45 everything was in place. All we had to do was roll out our mats.

    Firstly, we experienced a wonderfully themed yoga class, of Jumping into Spring and blowing away the cobwebs of winter. Lots of excellent stretching and twisting. Thanks to Rita we started our day well.

    Cathy got us thinking next and discussed the practices in life that may bring best health: nothing is ever assured but things such as getting  enough sleep, adequate exercise, diet tips /foods and times of eating, meditation practices, self massage…. and so much more. Good thoughts and some excellent chats around this topic.

    I provided a  short physical practice before lunch of Breathing Techniques that assist us to stay balanced and focused. Balancing breaths and Balancing postures.

    We enjoyed excellent morning and afternoon teas  and a more than adequate lunch. The food was fresh and clean which is just what we needed to divide our sessions.

    After lunch A fantastic partner yoga session with Lynne and Amanda provided us with the most fun and I really thank the girls for planning a session that got everyone together with so much laughter and amusement. Thanks everyone too for embracing this style of session, the photos illustrate the absolute joy it created.

    Our final session was a gently stretching class and a full 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra.

    A good way to complete our day.

    So, a huge thank you to everone. We enjoyed being with you and having some time to  chat during breaks, relax and connect in such a calming environment.

    We will definitely do this style of Retreat Again and I hope you will join us again.
